Wind Tunnel at UofC. Smoke visualisation of the flow around my head. Just for fun. 🙂

My name is Nikolay Bukharin, I am Instructor in the mathematics and mechanics at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), teaching broad range of subjects at the department of Manufacturing and Automation and Continuing Studies  & Distance Education Academic Services .

I did two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Calgary and was involved as instrumentation engineer and experimentalist in several R&D projects related to heat and mass transfer and experimental fluid mechanics (Binary Fluid Ejector (BFE), Bluff Body Aerodynamics and Active Wake Control, Waste Heat, Cavitation Jets, etc.).

I’m also Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and work as an instructor in BJJ Fight Club, Calgary. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in my case is less of a hobby  and more of a lifestyle. I am still competing and my 8 years old son joined me recently to fight together at CBJJF provincials where we did not bad at all.
